Greer Mitchell - Design for Life

Greer's interest in environmental matters stems from intermediate school when she was asked to write about (then termed) global warming. The terminology has changed, but the reality is still the same.

Skip to many years later. In 2008 Greer completed her Victoria University Digital Design degree (www.greermitchell.com) with a project titled ‘envirotainment’ (http://bit.ly/caNABz). This incorporated elements of play and researched various forms of social and traditional media to ascertain the most effective way to connect people together to help clean up their local environment.

In late 2009 Greer spoke at the New Zealand Postgraduates Conference about her Masters of Design research from Massey University.

In her 5 minutes of fame on the Ignite stage, Greer will discuss aspects of her masters project which aims to create a Wellington based iphone application intersecting mobile interface design, democracy, citizen science & the environment.
