SilverStripe builds innovative websites and applications for business and government clients in New Zealand and across the world. Because SilverStripe's software is open source, it means you as a business can engage with them to create a website which will benefit from a significant amount of freedom, security, and lack of vendor lock-in. There are currently over 250,000 copies of the SilverStripe platform in circulation world-wide. Many of those copies were downloaded by developers who actively contribute new features and bug fixes back into the open source product which is used as the "base" when SilverStripe builds a website for you.
SilverStripe powered the US 2008 National Democratic Convention by applying their deep understanding of complex projects to manage a large number of parties and a challenging design and development project. They did this by working with a communications agency in the United States, who in turn liaised with the client. They coordinated with separate entities in the US for specific services such as visual design, ticketing, hosting, caching, and video streaming and created a bi-lingual site that operates in both English and Spanish. They also ensured the site could scale to handle the massive amound of traffic it received and provided 24/7 during the critical time of the event.
In New Zealand, SilverStripe powers a large number of both local and central government websites, and is used by prominent companies including Air New Zealand. SilverStripe was founded in 2000 and has 40 staff between its Wellington and Melbourne offices.
